Victoria Irene Quinonez died surrounded by her loving family at her home on May 14, 2020. She was 94 years old.
Victoria was a remarkable woman. She held a strong, unwavering faith in Christ and acted that faith out in her life unfailingly. To call her generous would be an understatement. When she passed, she had little of material worth to her name; during her life she had given it all away. In her home, no one was ever denied a meal or a place to sleep.
Victoria's calling in life was to be a mother. She grew up an only child in Ecuador and created the lively, crowded family she had wished for as a child by having ten children. She also provided a home to many of her nieces and nephews, treating them no differently than her own children. Victoria took on her children's trials as if they were her own, even as they became parents and grandparents themselves. Through illnesses and hard times she was steadfastly present, willing to provide whatever she could to help, be it food or clothing or a bed or just the knowledge that no matter what, you were loved unconditionally. She never judged and always forgave.
Victoria is survived by David, her devoted husband of 73 years; her children, Betty, Monica, Martha, Victoria, Maria, Marcos, Fernando and Jennie, as well as their spouses ; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; and her perrito, Titan. She is predeceased by her children, David and Gilma. We will carry her in our hearts always.
