Ralph A. Vitacco

After battling heart disease for many years, Ralph Vitacco passed peacefully away on December 22.

Ralph was born to Michele and Giuseppina Vitacco and grew up in Harlem before the family moved to the Bronx. While working on a house which would later become his home, he met a nice lady who told him that he should go out with her daughter. Ralph agreed and that is how he met Theresa, who would be his loving wife for thirty-five years until her passing in 1993.

There was nothing more important to Ralph than his family. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Korea where he served his country honorably. Ralph worked for Gould paper for many years as a warehouse manager.

 Anyone who met Ralph knew right away that he was a charmer and raconteur. Stories about his time in the army and visiting Italy were legendary, he even made the paper business seem exciting.

Ralph is predeceased by wife Theresa, his parents Michele and Giuseppina, his sister Irene, brother Frank and his in-laws John and Angelina Valentino whom he loved very much.

Ralph is survived by his devoted daughter Angela and husband Joseph, his son Michael, wife Patricia and their children John and Emily, and his son Ralph and wife Debra and their children Emma and Michael (the so-called Plumber!)

He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

As Ralph always said, “that is that.” 

Ralph A Vitacco passed on Friday, December 22, 2023. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Ralph Giordano Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Theresa Church on December 27, 2023 at 9:45 a.m. Interment to follow Saint Raymond's Cemetery.
