Diana Kandel

Diana Lucy Kandel, age 74, was granted her angel wings on September 19th 2020 with her daughter by her side. She was born in the Bronx on March 4, 1946 to the late Nazzareno & Jean Giaquinta. On June 11, 1966, she married Lawrence Abraham Kandel, her husband of 54 years. Diana was a loving and devoted mother and friend. She always had a big heart for the ones she loved, especially her three grandchildren. She was a stay at home mom for years and decided to move into the working world in medical billing at Montefiore Hospital for 15 years, but her real expertise was in the kitchen. Her lasagna and chicken cutlets were the centerpieces of all family gatherings and her recipes were prized possessions.

Diane is survived by her husband, Lawrence, her daughter, Melissa, and her son, David. She was the dear sister of Anthony, Joey, and John, cherished mother-in-law to Ralph and Katie, and beloved “Mema” to Marcus and his wife Marisa, Lukas, and Natasha. She was also an Aunt, Godmother, Cousins and most of all a special dear friend to many.

Diane was never one to hold her tongue, she always spoke her mind and kept it real. She was truly genuine and a loving woman. Diane will be greatly missed and her legacy will live on.

 Visitation will be held at the Ralph Giordano Funeral Home, 1727 Crosby Ave., Bronx, NY 10461 on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will commence on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Raymond's Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Ralph Giordano Funeral Home.
