Constantine "Gus" DiBattista Obituary

Constantine Joseph DiBattista, known affectionately as Gus, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024. He was born on August 1, 1929, to Donato and Libra DiBattista, in Harlem, NY. He spent his childhood years growing up on 116th Street with his brother Frank and sister Rose.

In 1957, Gus married his beloved wife, MaryAnn. Together, they moved to the Bronx and raised three children: Jo-Marie, Daniel, and Jude.

Gus was a man of unwavering integrity and dedication. After serving in the US Military, during the Korean War crisis, Gus went on to have a career in the insurance industry, where he became an industry legend. He was always someone to help those in need, and a man you can always depend on for anything.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Gus had a great love for sports. He grew up mastering the game of basketball but will always be known for his love of the Yankees, Giants and hitting the golf course any chance he had.

Gus was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his children, Jo-Marie, Daniel (Nancy), and Jude(Joan), his grandchildren, Daniel, Jack, Jessica, Julia, and Emma, and sister Rose Morehouse. Gus was a treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many. As we gather to honor Gus’s life and legacy, let us celebrate the profound impact he made on our lives and the countless memories that will forever be etched in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to Gus’s heart.
