Assunta Barone Frangella - 1/1/25 - 3/19/21
A devoted wife predeceased by her husband Vincenzo, a loving mother to Angelo (Louise) and Joann Napolitano (Ralph) and a devoted nonna and great-grandmother to Marc, Scott, Christa (Chris), Carina Rose and Callie May, Assunta died on March 19, 2021, the feast day of St. Joseph.
Assunta was born in Calabria, Italy and married her husband Vincenzo in the small village where both of them were born and raised. They eventually immigrated to the United States and lived in Pelham Bay for sixty years.
Assunta attended daily Mass at St. Theresa's Church and was well known in the parish community. A woman of great faith who was devoted to her family, Assunta worked in the garment industry for many years.
In addition to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Assunta is survived by a brother, Archangelo, a sister, Melina, a brother-in-law, Luigi and many, many nieces and nephews.
A wake will be held on Tuesday morning between the hours of 8:30 - 10:30. Masks and social distancing requirements will be adhered to. Visitors should only remain in the funeral chapel for ten minutes.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Theresa of the Infant Jesus followed by her internment at St. Raymond's Cemetery. Masks and social distancing protocols will be followed at the church too.
The family is requesting no flowers be sent to the funeral home.
