Anthony Messina

Messina – Anthony, 63, Marble Setter of Yonkers, NY, passed away unexpectedly on January 8, 2023. He was born September 1, 1959 in the Bronx, NY son of Giuseppe and Rosalia Messina. He is predeceased by his parents. He is survived by sister Josephine Messina of Yonkers, NY, and brothers Freddie Messina of Myrtle Beach, SC and Frank Messina of Grahamsville, NY; Brother-in-Law Gregory Seda of New Rochelle, NY; Niece Angela (William) Porcelli: Great-Nieces Amelia and Victoria; Uncle Salvatore (Joan) Messina; Aunt Minnie (Antonio) Salerno; and many cousins. Affectionately know as Uncle AintKnee, he loved his family and adored his nieces especially. He loved all things sports. He was proud to be from the Bronx, home of Yankee Baseball. He joked that TONY really meant To NY. You’d often find him in his garden listening to a ball game on the radio. The same garden he would hide Easter eggs for the girls. He loved to order a frozen Pinà Colada out to dinner with his sister and brothers or at a poker table. He was known for being late to the party, but he was the life of the party when he finally arrived. He lost his vision but never his sense of humor or kindness. His friends from the neighborhood and high school were his friends for life. He will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

 The family will receive relatives and friends at the Ralph Giordano Funeral Home on Friday, January 13, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on  Friday, January 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow St Raymond's Cemetery in the Our Lady of Hope Crypts Section.
