Andrew William Poluha

Beloved son of Susan and Dennis, and brother to Maria. Husband to Lorina, and most especially, Father of Andrew Jr. Dear Friend to many and to all who had the chance to meet this one-of-a-kind soul. 

Andrew was loving, dedicated and loyal to his soulmate, Lorina. They met a decade earlier by way of a bridge connecting two boroughs. They were drawn back to each other years later, ready to build their life together (in his borough), and they did, all while enjoying their shared passions for music, film, comedy, good food, and good times. Their son Andrew is their miracle, and a testament to their love for each other.

Andrew lit up the room everywhere he went, and anyone who met him will attest to that. He was charismatic, talented, and he made everyone around him laugh. He helped his friends in every way he could, without even being asked. He connected friends with opportunities to grow their careers and start new beginnings. He was always thinking of others before himself.

He was a talented musician and was the best bass player, hands down. Playing and touring in bands with his close friends was what he lived for. He was a hard worker, and achieved so much in his career working in Locations for TV and film. He became a Teamster, and that made him proud. He was well-rounded and his knowledge spread wide across different areas. He loved the Jets, the Rangers, the Yankees. He enjoyed movies, concerts, and breweries. He was a smart, quick-witted person, with the most winning personality.

Though his life was cut tragically short, Andrew lived doing what he loved and being with those he loved. An inspiration to all of us, he is cherished, loved and admired. A bright light to so many.

Mr. Andrew W. Poluha passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023.  The family will receive friends and relatives at Ralph Giordano Funeral Home on Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 3:00 - 9:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Theresa's Church on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 10:00 am.  Mr. Poluha will be laid to rest immediately following the funeral mass at St. Raymond's Cemetery, Bronx, NY.

At the family's request, please wear a mask during the viewing and funeral mass.
