Alfonso 'Funzy' Marino, aged 64 years old, passed away on Sunday, May 26th, 2019 in Mount Sinai Saint Luke's Hospital in New York City. Al was born at Saint Francis Hospital in the Bronx on June 4th, 1954 to Edith Marie Miller and Vincent James Marino. As a child, he was a proud boy scout and later attended Cardinal Hayes. He graduated from CUNY Lehman in 1978 and began his career selling life insurance policies with Mutual of Omaha where he cultivated life-long friendships with his peers. Al most enjoyed spending time with his loved ones, watching sports and movies and discussing politics. He will be above all remembered for his good sense of humor and his love for the simple pleasures in life. He is survived by his daughters, Alexis and Lisa Marino, two sisters Teresa Marino Towart and Sandy Gormley and many cousins, nieces and nephews. We invite those whose lives have been touched by Al to join us in his service to reminisce, support each other and grieve.
A special thank you to the healthcare professionals of Amsterdam House who looked over Al in his last few months and supported his family throughout.
